This painting is oil on panel, 8 x 10 inches. When apple season started in earnest this fall, I must have stood in the produce aisle at Publix for a good fifteen minutes trying to make up my mind. Which variety would make the best painting. Eating or cooking the apples would definitely come in second place to the visual considerations. I decided on the Jonathans. They had the most variety of color to my eye. I had fun wrapping and posing them. This is the first of the apple paintings. There will be more.
