White Camellias in a Glass
I cut these white camellia blossoms from a bush in my son's yard and brought them into his kitchen where I sketched and photographed them years ago. The canvas is 24 x 30 inches so these painted flowers are much larger than the models!

Recently I came across an old cell phone photo of these flowers, taken years ago, and thought what a nice painting they might make. Rather than render them the actual size, I decided to alter the scale and make them giant blooms. The result is a painting of flowers, back-lit in a simple glass tumbler. I'm pleased with the result and hope you like it as well.
